Anchorages in Szczecin Lagoon
Very shallow lagoon — draught limit 1.5m recommended (max 2.5m in channels)
Szczecin Lagoon averages only 3.8m depth with a maximum of 8m. The recommended draught limit is 1.5m throughout the lagoon — 2.5m maximum in dredged navigation channels only. The Świna, Dziwna, and Peene straits carry currents of up to 3 kt driven by Baltic water level differences (not tides). The lagoon salinity is approximately 2‰ — effectively freshwater. The Polish-German border runs through the lagoon — no formalities required within the Schengen area. Non-EU vessels must clear customs at Świnoujście before proceeding.
