About This Anchorage

Nowe Warpno (Neuwarp in German) sits at the western edge of the Polish Szczecin Lagoon, just a few kilometres from the German portion of the lagoon (Stettiner Haff). The village is tiny and traditional — a reminder of the pre-war Pomeranian fishing communities that once worked this lagoon. The lagoon border between Poland and Germany runs through the water nearby — a Schengen internal border that is now invisible in practice. The area is excellent for exploring both the Polish and German sides of the lagoon by boat. The crossing to German lagoon ports (Ueckermünde, Usedom) is straightforward with no formalities needed between EU/Schengen states.
