75m for a remote coastal outlet anchorage. Sandy holding is reliable — but the exposed position requires weather vigilance. The outlet gap itself has variable depths due to sand migration.

About This Anchorage

Gura Portiței (The Portiței Gap) is one of the most remote and evocative points on the Romanian Black Sea coast — a narrow gap in the long barrier spit that separates the vast Razim-Sinoe lagoon from the open sea. This gap is the only natural connection between the lagoon system and the Black Sea in this section of coast, and it has been used by fishermen for centuries as a passage between the calm inner lagoon waters and the open sea fishing grounds. The barrier beach here is completely undeveloped — a narrow strip of sand separating two entirely different water worlds: the brackish, shallow lagoon teeming with birds and fish on one side, and the open, deep Black Sea on the other. The Portiței beach community (a handful of fishermen's huts and a small eco-tourist camp) is accessible only by boat — there are no roads. This is the Black Sea coast at its most wild and authentic.
