About This Anchorage
Kołobrzeg is the main port and spa town of the central Pomeranian coast — known for its brine springs (spa resort since the 19th century) and as one of the most heavily contested battles of WWII (the city was almost completely destroyed in March 1945 and entirely rebuilt). Today Kołobrzeg is a major tourist destination with a well-developed marina, extensive beaches, a cathedral (rebuilt after wartime destruction), and a busy harbour area. The lighthouse (1945 replacement) stands at the harbour entrance. The Parsęta river mouth forms the harbour — the entrance has extended pier arms providing good protection. Full marina facilities including fuel, water, provisions, and restaurants make this the best service port on the Pomeranian coast.
