About This Anchorage
Morne Rouge Bay — known to cruisers as Pink Gin Beach — is a sheltered bay 1nm west of Grand Anse, offering calmer conditions than Grand Anse and less crowding than Prickly Bay. The bay is partially screened from SE swell by its geometry, making it a more comfortable overnight option when the trades are running fresh. The anchorage sits in 2–4m on sand and mud, with GCMA mooring buoys available on a voluntary payment basis (cash in the collection box or payment to the GCMA agent). The small beach bar ashore provides cold Carib beer and basic food. The bay is popular with local Grenadian families at weekends, giving it a more authentic Caribbean feel than the fully touristed Grand Anse. The walk over the headland to Grand Anse takes 15 minutes and provides access to full provisioning at Spiceland Mall.
