Anchorages in Hanko & Southwest Coast
Exposed SW Coast — Offshore Passage Gateway
Hanko is Finland's southernmost city and the country's most important departure point for offshore Baltic passages (Tallinn, Stockholm, Gotland). The SW coast is fully exposed to SW gales — anchorages are sheltered coves between granite headlands. Isostatic uplift of 9mm/year means chart data requires verification; always use current electronic charts. Jokaisenoikeus (every man's right) allows free anchoring throughout.
