About This Anchorage
Tammisaari (Swedish: Ekenäs) is one of the most historically significant towns in southern Finland — a medieval Swedish-speaking market town with a beautifully preserved old quarter, wooden buildings dating from the 18th–19th century, and a striking stone church. The town sits deep in the inner archipelago behind a maze of islands and channels, giving it extraordinary shelter from all directions. The surrounding Tammisaari Archipelago National Park protects thousands of islands across the Raseborg municipality. The mud bottom in the town anchorage gives excellent holding, and the calm inner waters make it one of the most comfortable overnight stops between Turku and Helsinki. The old town's restaurants and cafés are excellent, and the archipelago park offers kayaking, birdwatching, and day sailing from the guest marina.
