The Pelican Village area marks the northern edge of the Carlisle Bay anchorage zone, adjacent to the Pelican Craft Centre (a local artisan market) and the approaches to Bridgetown's cruise ship terminal and commercial harbour. This position is primarily useful for day visits ashore, or as an anchorage of convenience when approaching Bridgetown from the north and needing to stop briefly before customs clearance. The Pelican Craft Centre offers local crafts, art, and the rum product centre — convenient by dinghy. The cruise ship terminal is immediately adjacent — expect significant commercial vessel traffic when cruise ships are in port.
