About This Anchorage

King Peter's Bay is a scenic, secluded bay on Tobago's north coast adjacent to the more famous Bloody Bay. Like its neighbour, it is backed by the Main Ridge Forest Reserve and faces north with exposure to northerly swells. The bay is slightly more compact than Bloody Bay, offering marginally better natural shelter. No facilities and minimal human presence — a wild, beautiful anchorage for those exploring Tobago's uninhabited north coast. The name reportedly derives from a Tobagonian folk tale about a local 'king' who ruled this area. Walking along the coast between King Peter's Bay and Bloody Bay (1nm east) through the forest edge is possible in settled conditions. An excellent base for Main Ridge forest birdwatching.
