About This Anchorage

Bophut on Koh Samui's northern coast is home to the charming Fisherman's Village with traditional wooden shophouses, boutique restaurants, and a Friday Walking Street market. The anchorage is shallow with good sand and mud holding, well-protected from SE through S around to NE directions. The village atmosphere is more authentic than Chaweng and the provisioning and dining are excellent. Good base for day trips to the Ang Thong Marine National Park archipelago to the northwest.

Set Your Anchor Alarm to 65m

In the Gulf of Thailand, unexpected NE squalls can develop overnight and ferry wash can drag an unmonitored anchor. Safety Anchor Alarm monitors your GPS position continuously — so you can enjoy the Full Moon Party, dive sites, and tropical evenings knowing your boat is protected.
