About This Anchorage

Nämndö is a quiet island in the inner-outer archipelago transition zone south of the Sandhamn fairway. Less visited than Grinda or Finnhamn despite equally good holding and shelter, Nämndö is popular with Stockholm sailors who know the archipelago well and prefer calm over café culture. The island has a small summerhouse community and a basic gästhamn. Ornö, the large forested island across the sound, is one of the largest uninhabited islands in the archipelago and is a nature reserve. Together they create an excellent sheltered anchorage with extensive dinghy-exploration potential in the surrounding islets and bays.
