About This Anchorage

The offshore area at Rewal and Niechorze offers a fair-weather stopover on the central Pomeranian coast between Kołobrzeg and Świnoujście. The coastline features sandy cliffs and the historic Niechorze lighthouse (1866) — one of the tallest lighthouse towers on the Polish coast at 45m. The cliffs here are made of easily eroded soft stone and the coast retreats measurably each year. This is strictly a fair-weather anchorage for day stops in calm southerly conditions during a coastal passage. There is no shelter whatsoever from the northern quadrant and swell can build to dangerous heights with little warning.
