Non-EU vessels must clear at Marina Bas-du-Fort capitainerie (VHF 9/16) or Basse-Terre port on arrival. No anchoring on coral or seagrass throughout Guadeloupe waters — strictly enforced. Anchor only on sand or mud. Hurricane season June–November — plan to leave by end of May. La Désirade crossing (7nm from Saint-François) can be rough in strong trade conditions — check sea state before departure.
