65m for excellent holding on mud/clay in 2–4m. Open to northerly Gulf of Finland — in N winds above F4 the anchorage becomes uncomfortable. Pirita (5nm) offers better shelter in northerly conditions.

About This Anchorage

The Viimsi Peninsula is an affluent suburb of Tallinn — once a collective fish-farming community, now a sought-after residential area. Rohuneeme at the peninsula tip has a small harbour serving as a ferry departure point for the islands. The Viimsi Open Air Museum (Eesti Vabaõhumuuseum Viimsi) is one of Estonia's finest — fishing village buildings relocated from around the country create an extraordinary landscape. The peninsula gives excellent views across Tallinn Bay and toward the Finnish coast (Helsinki visible on clear days from the lighthouse, 80km north). A practical anchorage for Tallinn visitors who prefer the quieter eastern bay to the busy Pirita marina.
