About This Anchorage

Tõstamaa Bay is a peaceful anchorage on the north shore of Pärnu Bay — a quiet corner of the Gulf of Riga well away from the busy Pärnu marina and ferry traffic. The bay is flanked by the Tõstamaa Peninsula, which provides good shelter from the prevailing westerly and northwesterly winds. The village of Tõstamaa has a traditional Estonian coastal character — small farms, timber houses, and a fishing harbour. The surrounding landscape is typical western Estonian coast: pine forest reaching to gravel and sandy beaches, meadow land behind the dunes, and the distinctive Baltic light that Estonia's artists have painted for centuries.

Set Your Anchor Alarm to 80m

In the shallow Gulf of Riga, wave heights build rapidly in strong winds. A dragging anchor can put you aground quickly. Safety Anchor Alarm monitors your GPS position continuously while you rest.
