About This Anchorage

Rezovo Bay marks the extreme southern limit of Bulgarian maritime territory — the Rezovo River (Mutlu Dere) forming the actual boundary between Bulgaria and Turkey, its mouth creating a small bay with Bulgarian shore to the west and Turkish territory immediately to the east. The tiny village of Rezovo on the Bulgarian side is one of the country's most isolated communities, accessible only by a single mountain road through Strandzha. The bay is surrounded by the Strandzha Nature Park on the Bulgarian side — ancient deciduous forest of extraordinary richness, home to rare species found nowhere else in Bulgaria. For sailors, this is the definitive end of the Bulgarian coast — a remote, wild, and historically charged anchorage at the boundary of two ancient civilisations. The view across the river to Turkey, and back north along the wild Strandzha coastline, is one of the most dramatic in Black Sea sailing.
