Anchorages in Providenciales & Caicos Islands
Turtle Cove Marina (customs, fuel), Grace Bay Beach (world's best beach, reef moorings), Sapodilla Bay (SW Provo, Banks staging), Leeward Going Through (tidal cut, iguanas), and the remote northeast Caicos cays — Pine Cay and Water Cay.
Caicos Banks tidal awareness — draft limit 1.2m at low water
The Caicos Banks south of Providenciales are extremely shallow — 1–4m average depth with a tidal range of 0.6–0.9m. Maximum recommended draft is 1.2m at low water. Always check tide tables before transiting. Navigate only in good light. No anchoring on coral throughout TCI waters — DECR enforcement active. Clear customs at Turtle Cove Marina on arrival. Cruising permit required (~$50 USD). Cold front northers January–March can bring 30–40kt N winds.

Set Your Anchor Alarm in TCI Waters
In Turks & Caicos, the 0.6–0.9m tidal range means your depth at anchor changes significantly overnight. Safety Anchor Alarm monitors your GPS position continuously — essential in the shallow Caicos Banks where dragging toward reef carries serious consequences.
