About This Anchorage
Troumaka Bay is a small, seldom-visited anchorage tucked between two volcanic headlands on St. Vincent's northwest coast, just south of Chateaubelair Bay. The surrounding headlands provide more natural shelter than nearby Chateaubelair and the bay offers good holding in clean sand. A tiny fishing community occupies the hillsides above the beach — traditional Vincentian village life with colourful wooden houses, gardens, and fishing boats pulled up on the black volcanic sand. Troumaka sees very few visiting yachts and provides a genuinely off-the-beaten-track experience. With no facilities and no restaurants, you need to be completely self-sufficient. The bay is best used as a peaceful lunch stop or a single overnight in perfect settled conditions. The views north to La Soufrière volcano and south along St. Vincent's dramatic west coast are outstanding.
