Anchorages in Northern Israel
From Haifa Bay to the Lebanese border — Akko's Crusader city (UNESCO), the chalk grottoes of Rosh Hanikra, the ancient Canaanite harbour at Dor Beach, and the most sheltered marina in Israel within Haifa's commercial port complex.
Northern Israel — Border and Heritage Zone Warnings
Lebanese border (Rosh Hanikra): Do NOT approach within 1nm of the Israeli-Lebanese maritime border. Israeli Navy patrols this zone actively. No transit to Lebanese waters is possible from Israel. The Rosh Hanikra grottoes are accessible only by cable car from the cliff top — not by sea. Akko UNESCO World Heritage Site: No anchoring on ancient harbour structures — illegal under Israeli Antiquities Law. The Crusader city and harbour zone are protected under UNESCO and Israeli heritage law. Security screening mandatory at Akko and Haifa on arrival. Israeli cruising permit required throughout northern waters.
