About This Anchorage
Anse Rodrigue is one of the quieter anchorages in Les Saintes — a bay on the northeastern coast of Terre-de-Haut offering an escape from the crowds of the main Bourg des Saintes anchorage just 1.5nm to the west. The bay has clear turquoise water, good sand holding, and excellent snorkelling off the rocky headlands. The northeastern exposure means the anchorage receives the full NE trades — comfortable in moderate conditions but potentially bouncy in strong trade periods. The advantage is space and privacy in one of the most beautiful settings in the Caribbean. The island's eastern coast is less visited by tourist excursion boats, giving the anchorage a quieter, more solitary character. A short walk over the island's central ridge connects to the village of Bourg des Saintes and all its facilities.

Skipper's Tips
- →Anse Rodrigue is the best choice when the main Bourg anchorage is full — the extra exposure to the trades is worth the additional space and quiet
- →The snorkelling off the rocky headlands on the eastern and western sides of the bay is excellent — cleaner water than the main harbour
- →The 20-minute hike over the ridge to Bourg des Saintes village is a rewarding walk with stunning views — bring a water bottle
- →In the early mornings, before the trades build, this anchorage is extraordinarily peaceful — Les Saintes at its most serene
- →A good choice for a second night in Les Saintes when the Bourg anchorage crowds become too much
