Critical Jurisdiction Warning — Two Countries, Two Clearances
Union Island, Mayreau, Tobago Cays are St. Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG) — NOT Grenada. These islands are a different country with separate Customs and Immigration. SVG clearance is required on entry from Grenada or Carriacou. Clear at Clifton Harbour, Union Island. Sailing in SVG waters without clearance carries heavy fines. Sandy Island: Protected nature reserve — no fires of any kind, no camping, no rubbish ashore. Take nothing from the island. Kick ‘em Jenny: Active underwater volcano between Grenada and Carriacou — 1.5km exclusion zone; check UWI Seismic Research Centre (uwiseismic.com) before northbound passage from Grenada.
