About This Anchorage
The Pellinki archipelago stretches south from Porvoo into the Gulf of Finland — a chain of granite islands and skerries that provides a series of increasingly exposed anchorages as you progress south. The inner Pellinki islands give reasonable shelter and are popular with local sailors from Porvoo and Helsinki. The outer islands face the full fetch of the Gulf of Finland and require careful weather assessment. The archipelago has a character typical of the outer Finnish Gulf coast: wind-battered pines, wave-polished granite, and the open Baltic horizon to the south and east. Ferry service connects some of the larger islands.
